hmmm would take more work into, like saving up for that 15k armor, err maybe tokens that monsters drop or you can get for selling stuff, I like that, o wait.......thats gold.

The price of skills isn't exorbitantly high since it caps at 1 plat. You don't need so many skills that you can't afford to pay a plat every few days.

There are already free skills, Hero Skill Trainers, Skills Quests...
More of that should be better.

Those quests aren't even relevant anymore. Non-Tyrians can't get most of them and loads of the truely useful skills can't even be attained that way. Plus they can only be done for 2 professions at a time so you miss loads of the other ones. The hero skill trainers are almost useless. They have just a crap selection of skills, if they gave us a wider selection...
Its been suggested plenty of times that skill points could be used to buy skills if you have lots of them... Anet don't seem to take any interest.

they dont take interest because of the economy of the game. As you can see from a post above some people spend ALOT of gold on just skills. Between two characters i can spend well over 1 mil easily on armor/skills/items all from merchants.
Remove the gold from the skills and the economy takes a BIG hit.

I think the capped out price should just be lowered. Or maybe have it so that secondary profession skills cost a platinum+skill point but primary only cost a skill point.
